Hygiene, Safety & Etiquette Guidelines

Please read this before booking or attending. These notes help keep every session clean, comfortable, safe, and respectful for all guests.

Before You Arrive

Shower Beforehand

Please shower before your session. This removes lotions, oils, deodorant, and sweat that can affect comfort and air quality inside the sauna.

Avoid Strong Fragrance

Perfume, aftershave, and heavily scented products can become overwhelming in heated shared spaces. Please avoid them on the day of your booking.

Check Your Health

Do not attend if you feel unwell, have a fever, contagious illness, open wound, or skin infection. Please reschedule instead.

What To Bring

A Clean Towel

You must sit or lie on a towel at all times inside the sauna. This protects the benches and keeps the space hygienic for the next guests.

Swimwear And Footwear

Wear suitable swimwear and bring flip-flops or sandals for the sauna exterior, changing area, and shared outdoor surfaces.

Water

Hydrate before and after your session. Alcohol is not permitted and should not be consumed before using heat or cold exposure.

Health And Safety

Know When Not To Use The Sauna Or Ice Bath

Do not use heat or cold exposure if you are intoxicated, feverish, unwell, or recovering from a condition that makes temperature stress unsafe.

Ask A Medical Professional If Unsure

Please seek medical advice before booking if you are pregnant, have heart disease, blood pressure issues, fainting history, epilepsy, or take medication that may affect heat or cold tolerance.

Stop If Something Feels Wrong

Leave the sauna or ice bath immediately if you feel dizzy, faint, nauseous, short of breath, numb, confused, or unusually uncomfortable.

During Your Session

Respect Shared Air Quality

No smoking, vaping, or strong food smells inside or immediately outside the sauna. Heated spaces amplify scent.

Keep The Space Clean

If you sweat heavily on benches or surfaces, please wipe them down with the cloth provided before leaving.

Keep To Your Booked Time

All sessions last 50 minutes, booked within an hourly slot to allow cleaning and reset between bookings. Please finish promptly at the end of your 50-minute session.

Be Considerate of Others

We’re part of a shared sports facility. Please be mindful of other guests and the wider sporting community. This is a sports recovery space, so expect the atmosphere of an active sports venue.

Cold Water Guidance

Enter Slowly

Step in carefully, breathe steadily, and keep early dips short. You can build tolerance over time.

Never Compete

Cold exposure is not an endurance contest. Leave the water before your body feels overwhelmed.

Warm Up Gradually

If you finish your session with cold exposure, dry off, dress appropriately and allow yourself time to warm up gradually.
